Also.. don't forget when the boards closed last time, someone made an 'unofficial' facebook group so we could all still chat..etc . It is a private group 'only' for SKMB. The name of the group is SKMB Ka-tet .. I have the link but don't know if it's allowed to be posted on this thread?

I don't see why not. But if Ms. Mod says otherwise, she will let us know. The dreaded chipper-shredder?

Just in case anyone missed this in the News area, am posting this here as well.

The holidays are upon us and after discussion among the moderators, it has been unanimously decided that we will be closing the Board on the following dates to give us the chance to enjoy the holidays with our families and so that the volunteer moderators will not have to cover for me while I am on vacation. The Board will be open to read and those who have those privileges can still send private messages and post to Profiles.

Closing Monday, November 23 at 12:01 AM EST

Reopening Sunday November 29 at 12:01 AM EST

Closing Thursday December 24 at 12:01 AM EST

Reopening Sunday, January 3 at 12:01 AM EST

I would like to say thanks so much to everyone for supporting us as we take these breaks, I am really looking forward to some personal time, especially as the Thanksgiving holiday is the week leading up to my son's wedding.
(& maybe I will start reading again in earnest too!) I will miss you guys during the board closure and will look forward to hearing all of the delicious Thanksgiving Dinner stories when we return.

I'll join in the chorus. Happy for you, happy holidays, have fun and then i turn away and show my devastated face when noone can see me. I think me need a special pill, some kind of fix, so we arent too harshly hit by the dreadful disease, rapidly spreading, SKMB Separation Anxiety Disorder (good one Dio). I'll survive the acopalypse and meet you all on the other side.....
Kurben will come back from the other side wielding a crossbow and riding a Harley.

Great timing--you'll have enough stress to deal with without having to moderate, too! ;) Congrats and best wishes to the lucky couple!

I do hope the mods have a relaxing time off, and you can devote the time needed for the upcoming wedding.

(But why, when the word “wedding” comes into play, the cost of everything goes up ten-fold? And why does the wedding obsession turns normally rational woman into crazed stereotypes? Guys just want to know. :))

I know! I couldn't believe it when I first heard the closing dates... it could not have been more perfect. You are right, I will be stressing terribly, I feel the nerves already creeping in, so much to do!
Thank you... I will pass that on to "I" & "M".

I think I like them more when all you have to do is attend... :biggrin2:

Thank you for your blessings... the second part scares me quite a bit. (I'm more of a private person offline and am always happier being in the back-ground, so "Mother of the Groom" is quite frightening.)

I wish they would just elope! (I think my son is starting to feel that way too... )

It will be awesome and the stress will be forgotten soon. I wish your son and his fiance all the best.

I thing part of it are fairytales and romantic movies. And the costs go up because people are willing to pay them and spend much money on weddings.
