I cannot tell you how happy I am that I do not have to go through the Black Friday and onward until December 26th shopping frenzy since I no longer work in retail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Homer's reaction is exactly how I feel about shopping, especially during the holidays.
Having done that myself for 8 Christmas seasons, I can tell you, you will never lose that thankful feeling this time of year. It has been 15 years since my last working retail Christmas, and I still say a thank you to the powers that be that I don't have to do that anymore.
You most likely won't ever want to be a Black Friday shopper, either. 
I am right there with you. I worked layaway at Meijer eons ago during the Christmas rush.....I still remember it vividly.
