So I was reading a boy and his dog by Harlan Ellison, and in the book the post apocalyptic alternate history, if JFK did not get assassinated. I'm wondering if king took this I account when writing the future as it was if JFK survived. Almost reminds me of something from the dark tower.

...Harlan has been an influence on many writers, whether it's a conscious thing or not...I love the guy, what a cranky and cantankerous bastid!....
