The Swamp was alive. It closed in tight enough to hug you.
A young man is on the rooftop of an apartment building, after some hesitation he jumps to his death. In a bedroom of the same building an identical looking young man wakes up from a nightmare; he goes to the window and sees the dead body.
She gazed at the beast, whose head poked out over the hill. It was looking down at her, screaming.
After what the fratboys did to her, she wanted to speak again, to interact, to actually live her life. Instead, she was frozen, an empty doll.
