This casting looks good....now I wonder who they will cast as Adrian's lover, Don Hagarty, the witness to the attack?
It's going to be interesting to see how they modernize the story. I wonder what all changes are gonna be made. I'm curious to see what flashbacks we are gonna get for the younger cast. I'm also curious if they will do any new memories/flashbacks of Bill and Georgie before he was killed.

I think the main thing in casting was how the looked like the kids in the first movie I saw a comparison to them and they ar close
Yeah they do look like the younger actors.

Did Audra have a bigger role in the book then in the mini series? I was not shure if they where going to cast Audra. But glad they did
Well since they are making alterations, its possible that they may give her a bigger role.

I agree completely that they focused on matching the actors physically with their younger counterparts. I just can't see James McAvoy as Bill. I'm not at all saying he's not good enough--I think he's an almost unnecessarily talented actor--but I've never seen him do anything that looked like small-town Maine, if that makes sense. In terms of physical appearance, I can't argue at all, but I don't think lookalike casting will to contribute to a good movie in any significant way.

No - the one that was shown in theatres with the new Pennywise - we saw it at the movie theatre but Andy has never seen it (I went with Josh and his friend Pam). He says he does not care whether I record it or not but I think once he sees the new movie, he'll probably like it.

I heard the TV movie wasn't very good, either.

By the way, when I called it the first It movie, I did so because this thread is about the upcoming part 2 with adult versions of the kids from the first big screen movie
You haven't seen the original (1990)? You've got to! Especially if you've read the book...the 2017 movie has great makeup and effects and lots of glitz and glam, but barely resembles King story in terms of feel. There's a lot of complain about in the original, but it gets the tone just right.

Yeh I saw the first one after I saw it and I liked both for equal reasons. Not shure who my favourite pennywise is. I am leaning towards bill

Look a likes definatly won't make a good movie, but let's wait and see what they have in store for us. Andy put together a great cast in the new one, let's give the adults a chance.

Both have their moments of following the book, and devianting from it as well. The biggest obstacle for the mini-series was the network tv censorship rules. But I still think Tim Curry pulled off a memoriable IT/Pennywise although we hardly saw it go in for the kill. I think the 2017 movie did a great job capturing the spirit of the novel(based on what I've read so far).

For me I have to say Tim Curry is still my favorite Pennywise. Don't get me wrong, I thought Bill did an amazing job, and he was creepy, and scary. To me, I thought he was most effective when he was left alone to do his acting. Where the CGI work was not there, or just very minimal. While Tim didn't have the big budget Skarsgard had, or the aide of computers to quicken the movements, or do things not possible. Tim had to rely on his acting, and the makeup to bring this character to life.

It's gonna awesome seeing the movie next year. I wonder how they are gonna update everyone's careers. I doubt they will change Bill's, Bev's, Ben's, and Stan's careers. Their careers are still relevant today. I believe Andy already confirmed that Mike will work in the library like the book. I predict that Richie is gonna be an online podcaster. No idea if Eddie will still own a Limo company. I also wonder what new scenes we are gonna get with the flashbacks with the kids from Chapter 1.

I can see Eddie as an agent in New York, maybe for actors or screenwriters. In the book, each character's career was reflective of their personality or shaped by events in their childhood, i.e. Ben's dam being a reflection of his desire to build and be an architect. What if Eddie was a psychologist or in the field of medicine? Good question, GeorgieFan2003.

Definitely a good theory for an updated career for Eddie in 2016. It's gonna be interesting to see what we have in store for IT: Chapter 2. I've also seen on Instagram that Greta will be back for a flashback, and she will be played by Megan Charpentier(spelling) again. So far the child character not fully confirmed to be back for Chapter 2 is still Georgie.

that is what i am having issues with, tim was creppy because he was a guy in a suit and it pennywise could be anybody. but bill is more of a thing, a being. that and i saw it part 1 before the tim curry it so i am not shure

How I love this photograph. Andy Muschietti really won me over with his first chapter. I'm down with anything he does in the second installment.
they casted the adults really well. they look like the kids and i think that is what they where going for i am glad they are not like a list actors like tom cruise or some such thing

There is no harm in liking either one when you make up your mind which one you like best :) No one's opinion is right or wrong.

Yeah I'm glad they didn't go for a bunch of bigger names as well. The biggest names are James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, and Bill Hader. They are the most known, everyone else is not as well known. I am curious to see how they all do. I am also curious how everything is gonna be modernized.
