We went walking around the square in Fayetteville before the blizzard hit last weekend, I forgot to take pictures...I'm smart like that...but one cool thing, there was a guy bundled up in a big coat sitting on the northeast corner of the square playing guitar. I had been hearing guitar music and the guy singing while we were walking around the square but didn't pay too much attention. I had mentally noted that the singer had a very blues-y type singing voice, twinged with a southern accent. My family and I walked around a few times, I noticed the music and singing stopped. He apparently switched guitars, when I actually got back around to him I noticed he had two guitar cases. I also noticed he was wearing a serape kind of jacket, and a beaten up cowboy hat bent forward on his head. The guitar he started playing was a twelve string guitar. I don't know much about guitars but the next song he played was a favorite of mine, Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Life by the Drop". Man, I'm telling you, this guy nailed it. I kind of stood off to the side and listened to him, then went and bought him a cup of hot chocolate and threw five bucks in his guitar case. I wanted to ask him how he learned to sing that well but I didn't want to sound like a tool......so I just nodded, told him he played really well and walked away. He actually stopped playing, stood up, shook my hand, and said thanks. when he did, I was struck by how much he favored SRV. I don't know if it was the look he was going for, but it was a bit scary when he first stood up...had a good time listening to him.

That is the reason for the season...to enjoy the simple things of life. Glad you enjoyed your day. You forget to take pics but your words had a camera lense. I could see the scene Ghost.
