I've heard better things about Cutter's second book. I was a bit "meh" on The Troop. Pinborough's The Death House is a wonderful novel. Try Snowblind by Chris Golden (horror) or Tin Men (techno thriller).
I am about a third of the way through The Deep by Cutter at the mo.
Not exactly blowing me away so far. I was expecting something quite shocking after some of the comments I had read, but its a bit "meh" for me so far too.

Do you guys consider Sarah Lotz a horror writer? Or a thriller writer. Anyway i have heard good things about her. Another interesting writer is Sarah Pinborough.

I read The Troop by Cutter. Was disappointed and cut him off. He is not on my reading lists anymore.

Ajvide Linqvist, for sure. One of my favorites. I also like Maberry and Scott Sigler. A good one that's more suspense than horror is Tana French.

I'm glad you guys mentioned Christopher Golden! I'd forgotten that I have one of his on my kindle that I've been meaning to read.

Chris golden is a new name for me. Written many? What kind of horror? Agree about Maberry. Good solid stories. Sigler is ok too even if what i read isn't in par with Maberry or Lindqvist.
