Over the weekend, I cleaned out my PMs, and saved all the important stuff. I smiled as I re-read many of the messages in the folder......
Words of encouragement from Spideyman, Moderator, Dana Jean, and morgan, shared cares and concerns and a whole lot of fun with cat in a bag , do1you9love?, and Out of Order, paranormal photos with GNTLGNT, chatting about college basketball with ghost19, talking dog treats, shark diving, and music with swiftdog2.0, talking about trimming bangs with Neesy, making new friends and talking Tarheels with thekidd12, giving @diobolic my address so he could send me seeds for the garden (the nightshade is growing beautifully, btw), Throwback photos with HollyGolightly, sharing funny anecdotes with Doc Creed, apologizing to FlakeNoir for showing my ass on her watch, and even a valentine's day wish from a dear friend. Thank you all for allowing me to be here for the last 12 years. I'm finding it really hard to say good bye to this place and all of you.

.....and just because your name didn't show up here doesn't mean that I don't love and appreciate you. These are just from the messages in my conversations folder. I've made so many friends here, and am grateful to have had this place to come to for this period in time. ♥
I’m doing that too (going through old messages in my profile page plus looking at old conversations)- lots of good stuff in there

I started back on the first page of my profile posts-- when the board made the last big change---- oh wow-- one tissue box was not enough.

I still find it hard to fathom... Almost out of time.
Stephen's Message Board is closing. Could be my last rhyme.
Soon, the lives of total strangers, some I've come to love,
Will go on their separate ways that I won't be part of.

It's been over twelve years now (I think... I'd have to check)
Since I tried to see what new book Stephen had "on deck."
Tech is not my strong suit so I stumbled on this place
And into this fellowship I've lived in cyberspace.

Names have changed and folks have come and gone throughout the years.
Some have reached the clearing at the end. There have been tears
Shed for friends I never met but, there's been even more
Joy and laughter, caring, kindness... People I adore.

Thank you to the Moderators. Thank you Stephen King.
Thank you Jordan. Thanks to all of you for everything...
All the lovely people here who've brightened up my day.
I am gonna miss you all more than this rhyme can say.

:love_heart:

Always loved your poetry, ma'am, even when extolling some football team.

And this one's the best yet.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this forum, and you folks have been entirely welcoming from the start. I haven't been a major player, as it were, but the involvement I've had has been really fun......

.... and I'm really going to miss this place.

Latecomer here, joining in March 2014, after coming to the site to scope out a long-defunct challenge by Gracious Host in On Writing. Liked the place and stayed.

My personal favorite experience was when I got into a compulsive logorrhea roll about my childhood friend Curt. I was in stream-of-consciousness mode, took about seven chapters, I think, and suddenly I realized that some of you were hanging on to it. You were so supportive, so friendly, so ... well ... loving that later I refined it, added it to my blog, and have been emotionally wedded to this forum since.

It will be sad to see the "Closed" sign on this shop. But if the Curt experience taught me nothing else by this time in my advanced years, it's that change is the only constant, nothing lasts forever, and we pick up and move on. Hopefully, we depart with good memories, and this place has added its own share of the best.

I joined this board shortly after Revival came out (2015?). The SK FB page was full of the usual douche-bags and I quit it. This was the first online forum I had joined in over a decade. I made many wonderful friends here (Doc Creed GNTLGNT Neesy osnafrank come to mind). All in all, this has been a great experience and it renewed my faith that there are still some online communities where people can still share their thoughts and differing opinions in a healthy manner.

I'd like to thank Moderator and Dana Jean and all the other mods for their work here. Really, we can't thank all of you enough. This has been a wonderful experience. I wish you and indeed everyone here the best in life.

For those of you who joined Frank's online community, I look forward to continuing our stories there.

....you both are very special people to me as well, and there is a squadron of others that have taken my heart and taken up residence in my soul...Ghost, Spidey, Doc, PITH, Deej, Flake, Tery, Marsha, Doc, Gpa, NN, Marla, Theresa, Hoss, Dio,, Morgan, Holly, my little Finland girl, Frank and departed friends....I know there are countless others and I'll try to think of more as my scatterbrain putts along....time here is short and oh so sweet, but my work schedule is going to peel me away from much of it.....just know, I will be a lost wanderer when this shop pulls the blinds down....please know how VERY much you have enriched my life and the depths of my love for each and every damn one of you....you made a lonely GNT a better man.....

The board is closing? Does the wrath of 2020 know no limits? Is nothing sacred? What is everyone to do?
Ck the banner for details. And may I suggest you check out The Playground, started and headed by Frank. You will find many of the SKMB have fund a second home there.

There are other worlds than these, brother. Mayhap we'll meet up further along the path.....It has been an honor and privilege meeting you here.
