Hi everyone,
I'm a reporter for Atlas Obscura. I'm working on a story with a Stephen King connection and I figured you guys may be able to help me out! The story is about a 1972 incident in which a red dye in a General Mills cereal, Franken Berry, caused children to poop pink, sending their parents into a tizzy (and often to the ER). I had heard that the part in Cujo where a weird batch of Red Razberry Zingers makes the kids throw up red was inspired by this very incident (and revisiting it, Franken Berry is actually namechecked during that part of the book!). I was wondering if any of you had any more info on this, or could point to an interview or something where he may have confirmed it. Feel free to reply to this post .
Thanks a lot!
Cara
