So I purchased a couple of the custom slipcases from CD that look really nice. But I started thinking that it would be fun to try and make some custom slipcases myself for my larger first editions such as the Stand and Insomnia.
Does anyone have experience in trying this? Recommendations on materials, etc.
One thing I would also like to try to do with these slipcases is build a bottom support for the text block itself to prevent gravity from pulling the spine down from the weight of the pages, which seems to be a common problem with many of my larger books. It would also be cool to figure out how to do some kind of foil colored embossing/debossing on the slipcases...but better not get ahead of myself. LOL
Any ideas?
Thanks
