Kay Brown is correct, the shooter could not have been Oswald, as even the top mark's person in the American Armed Forces couldn't do what Oswald did. Who invented the can of Spam?

In which we learn that our top military snipers can't hit targets at 90 yards or less.
Yes, Richard X I think you are right about most people not meaning disrespect. But saying this a tradition and has been going on so long, etc., also plays into the perils of desensitization. .which most of us are susceptible to, don't you agree? Secondly, why does a city put up with this instead of at least placing a request there so that maybe those folks will pause and think? Teaching moment for some, perhaps? If a tourist gets offended, so be it. If the city wants to keep the tourists there because of money, that's also disrespectful.

As for the conspiracy theorists, I don't have a strong conviction on whether the government or the mafia had any ties to the assassination. I do agree with you using the site for promoting is disrespectful. Yet, the propoganda doesn't bug me as much. I didn't notice a money grab going on, just a person there pushing theories. If someone wants to discuss theories, at least they care about the event and want to address the issues. Start trying to get wealthier off of it, and they cross the line.

As with any questionable activity, the local police/government have to make an assessment as to whether it is worth their time and resources to have law enforcement folks enforce every law (assuming there even is one that prohibits this activity). I suspect they have concluded it is not worth the effort just as they don't give speeding tickets to everyone who exceeds 55 mph. That doesn't mean that there is no a safety/respect concern but simply that stopping it entails resources that are likely better devoted elsewhere. And the tourists who are spending time and money in their city are likely not going to take away a life lesson from being ticketed but be PO'd which is never good PR. On the conspiracy issue, Groden doesn't just hang around and discuss his opinions. He has set up a table and sells books and videos. I think he is there almost every single day. He has basically opened a business. This is the same guy who testified in the OJ civil case that a photo of OJ wearing the Bruno Magli shoes was faked. It was then pointed out to him that there were multiple other photos and films taken by several different people that day. I think he is a true believer in conspiracies but perhaps doesn't have all his marbles. It is kind of pathetic in a way that he expends so much of his life on a fantasy.

That is pathetic and although I didnt notice the selling, I didnt really pay attention to him so I may have missed that. I get it, the city has plenty of other issues to deal with, just like any city. I would still maintain a sign to remind people about respect, and asking them to stay off the road, would be better than nothing. Who knows, maybe some would actually pay attention to it?

yes gntlgnt, I was thinking of a comparison or two also. 9/11 being relatively recent and also bringing countless Americans through personal loss, I would think that type of thing wouldnt be politely ignored in NY..at least I hope not. Maybe ignorance and disrespect are eternal but if people don't take a stand then they become the norm.
Amen
