Yeah, these are the sentiments I took away from it. That kid went through the negatives meticulously and even interviewed her friends from France, I believe. Wow, I need to watch again.She never allowed anyone to see her work. The only way it got known was the kid documentarian bought a box of her negatives at an auction, because after she died, her stuff just got donated or thrown away. Once he saw what he had, he started his search.
I do think she had major trust issues, and maybe a little rough with her kids she nannied. But I'm wondering how she kept getting jobs as a nanny if she was so mean?
She was quirky and definitely liked the darker side of life, but not shying away from moments of sweetness and tenderness in her photographs.
