Don Harron - you shall be missed

You may know him better as Charlie Farqhurson. He was an icon under both his names.

My dad and I used to enjoy comedy together. Don Harron was one of our favourites.

Here's something I didn't know about him.

Not sure what happened with what I was trying to quote above.

He wrote the lyrics for five musicals, including the 1965 on-stage version of Anne of Green Gables, which was adapted from a television version he co-wrote nine years earlier. The show is performed every year during the Charlottetown Festival in P.E.I., a province where Harron has spent considerable time.

Also, if you've never read one of his books....you should. Some are written as Farqhurson, so they are laugh out loud funny.

Oh my! I was honored to cook him food when he came out west here. He attended a gala I cooked at. He was a very good looking man in person with a big smile and a wonderful sense of humor. RIP
