It's mostly the memories, isn't it?I think what you ate growing up has a lot to do with the mayo vs Miracle Whip preference. It was mayo in our house and I can't stand Miracle Whip although I will tolerate it in cole slaw if I don't use a store bought slaw dressing.

Sorry guys, the coke truck advert was on yesterday - that means it's officially started.

I use Miracle Whip and French's mustard in my potato salad along with all those crunchy veggies. The trick is to get the right balance between the Whip and the mustard. I have a specific taste tester; if he says its GREAT, I wait till he leaves, then add more Whip. Comes out perfect every time.Me, too. I prefer to use it for potato salad..tangy.

Found a recipe for do-the-day before mashed potatoes! Make and refrigerate. When T-day arrives, put prepared potatoes in crockpot, heat on low for about 4 hours.
Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes at Allrecipes.comOooh - this sounds good! I could eat mashed potatoes any day of the week but after work and gym I am often too tired to peel and wash potatoes, etc.
I will have to go Google this - great idea!

That's blasphemy! On the sacred holiday of Thanksgiving, both must be consumed along with copious amounts of every other food group. And then for the next 3 days as well. Being sensible about what you eat is what January is for.I was reading an article on how to watch your caloric intake during the holidays and one suggestion I have to reject vehemently. It was suggested that I should eat either mashed potatoes OR stuffing, not both. NUNH NUNH NUNH.
