Finished! Thoroughly enjoyed! As for my previous comments, little things like this tend to jar me out of my usual SK absorption. I did not realise that saying these things would be considered to be blasphemous. (Do I hear cries of "Heretic! Burn him!") May I say to these people, in my best SK language, "GO AWAY!"

Well - silly me - I went and read the spoilers about the Glock before finishing Doctor Sleep so it did mess me up a bit. (Throws you out of your "reading spell") Same with
Whoppers don't have sauce!
that was on the old board as well

Oh yeah, TRoger - you must turn in your Stephen King secret decoder ring and official badge. (Did you get the memo?)

...and I don't give a rat's hindquarters about the thumb vs internal safety gripe....
You might if you were confronted by a bear...or knife-wielding maniac...or during a zombie apocalypse. 'Safety off. Dammit! Safety off! What the hell? Where's the safety? Aarrgh!' :)

Now I'm not a 'gun nut', I just know how to use them, but I must take a bit of an exception: .22, not an effective combat weapon? .22 = 5.56mm. Standard NATO calibre (OK, in assault rifles so it's a bit different, but even so a .22 pistol would be good enough at close quarters, as well as for execution-style shots and on board aircraft (mustn't go rupturing the fuselage; that would not be a good day out)).

I finally started reading Dr Sleep, (stole it early from under the Christmas tree) and I'm right into it...then wham! Page 214 is followed by page 247..i push through ignoring this little glitch...and it happens again.. page 262 is followed by page 231..AND I wasn't even holding a glass of wine! I'm now on page 289 but too scared to read on incase it jumps again. (I have rang the bookstore and they will order me a replacement) I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else on here?
...sounds like you've got a possessed book. :devilish:

I get it. Sometimes I 'm so absorbed in a story that it seems real. Like I'm there. And something like that kind of slaps me awake. The specific errors you mentioned wouldn't....but if it was a subject I knew a lot about.

However, sometimes it is not an error. And when it is...it's not important anyway.

It happened to me as well. This morning, I discovered that in my copy pages 247-263 are missing and replaced by a repeat of pages 215-230. A bummer indeed, but knowing that this little interruption will make the book last longer helped me take it in stride. This is my first post and I don't want to risk breaking any rules or code of conduct by mentioning the name of the publisher, but I suppose it would be OK to reveal that I am in Sweden and the book was purchased from the UK.

I hope I will be able to introduce myself properly soon - if and when inspiration strikes.
