I bought the DVD last Friday night and found that my DVD player was broken (it was a cheapie) and would only play it in black and white. It was just as good! I will watch it again when I get a new DVD player (most likely another cheapie).

I think it would be cool to see it in B&W. The deluxe dvd edition of The Mist has a B&W version (which I've never actually sat down to watch!).Watching that film in b&w sounds like fun, actually.
It was good to see in black and white. Also a bit of synchronicity involved. I've had the 'Silver Screen' channel free for a month and forgot how good all those old black and whites were. Just finished watching 'The Fast and the Furious' which is about a framed guy stealing a sportscar with a women and entering a race to Mexico. I wondered if that was where the new 'Fast and Furious' movies evolved from. I think I'll be on an old black and white jag for a while yet.Watching that film in b&w sounds like fun, actually.

If I'm parsing the linked article correctly, this version will have the deleted scenes but they will be extra features (as opposed to being interwoven into an extended cut of the movie). That's a little disappointing, but I'm glad we're getting them at all.
It's all marketing- they WILL release the Director's cut at a later date. Trust me. Just like they did with the Lord Of The Ring's movies- first we had theatrical versions then came the extended cuts with the added deleted scenes. $$$$
Really? I'm not sure I'm curious or vain enough to buy the movie just for that, though. My weenie gene is a lot stronger.A few people reported seeing my name in the Special Thanks section of the credits of one of the special features (Author of Fear | Interview with Mr Stephen King). Ms. Mod is also acknowledged here. Because they're listed alphabetically, I show up between "The Thomas Hill Standpipe" and Finn Wolfhard!

Not always; depends on the company. If they've sent any to the office, they didn't come on a day when I was working. Might need to take a walk to the back room to check.Do you (or SK) never get the movies for free? I would imagine they would send some free copies to people directly involved with SK or himself.

Yeah. I think you are right. My old flatscreen is starting to break down. It has long black lines running through the bottom. I tested a different input and can watch in colour if I use the old video, l-audio, r-audio jacks.I can imagine it would be good in black and white, but a strange problem. Sounds like a problem of the tv rather than the player, I didn't know that could happen with dvd-players.
You could just skip to the credits!Really? I'm not sure I'm curious or vain enough to buy the movie just for that, though. My weenie gene is a lot stronger.![]()
Yes, that's the one where we're located now.I've always wondered: is the office where you work the location described in this article?
Stephen King: The Rolling Stone Interview - Rolling Stone
They probably have the interview separate so I might not even have to do that. Bev shared it with me, though, so have had a chance to see it and only got jumped once. You could just skip to the credits!![]()
