OMG... 'Walter White' could be a good Roland!? Anyone ever think of him? Cry pardon I forgot his real name. lol But hey he's got the weathered look down. Slap in some blue contacts... wow, yeah that would make my year if they cast him instead of this Idris Elba person. <-----I'm sure Elba is a great actor because that's what I keep hearing, but he is NOT Roland. Say sorry. No way. No how. Uh uh.

It still seems a little like robbing Susannah to pay Roland...... why isn't her story of racial struggle and triumph important enough? Hmm...well it will be an interesting major change in story telling to see.....

whatcha think Doc? Think he could pull it off? I know people have said Aaron Paul would make a great Eddie. Dean Norris could play Cort. "Gustavo Fring" could be a Big Coffin Hunter... ? lol. Yeah i'm jonesin to see the cast of Breaking Bad again.
Ikr? The Bryan Cranston suggesion really made sense, even Aaron Paul (but it could be another Jesse Pinkman, which would distract us). Interesting. Yeah, I miss that show. So many memorable moments!

Wouldn't distract me! ;) Man., just wish they wouldn't change the main characters like they seem to be doing.

I saw someone post this elsewhere the other day. I wondered why the first I was seeing of this was in an online mag I'd never heard of. Then I read the article and saw that it was full of weasel words to get around the fact that there's been no official word. In fact, official channels are pretty quiet of late, aside from Akiva Goldsman.

I googled "Idris Elba confirmed Dark Tower" and I found only that article and other that linked to it. False rumor.

He's got the talent, no question, but here's the problem.

He's turning 60 this year. I have a feeling that if a sequel is greenlit, it won't start filming until 2018. Potentially, ten years or more could pass while they crank out sequels. Is he really going to remain spry and hard-looking that entire time?

The release date for the first movie has already been announced as January 13, 2017 but it is correct that Idris Elba has NOT been signed on for the part of Roland in spite of the misleading wording of the article so that part is still up for casting. He is still in the running, but that doesn't mean he will be the one to play the part.
