Just happened to me yesterday. Wait time was 5 minutes, answered in 20.Your estimated wait time is 1 minute. ...20 minutes later you're still on hold.
I am obviously in the minority because I HATE speaking to people on the phone. Friends, family or businesses. I love automated menus. If I find that I cannot get the results I need from the recorded messages (though I usually do), then I just press all the telephone buttons until I get an operator. That usually works. But even better is going to a company's web site; I can usually find what I need there or send an e-mail to get an answer.
Just keep pressing random buttons. I'd say this works almost 75% of the time for me.Hi!
I have tried to press "O" for operator or press other numbers and usually one of two things happen
1. The number you selected in not valid. You will be returned to the Main Menu. (So, I get to start all over again. yay)
2. I'm sorry I do not recognize that choice. Please call back. *click* (So, I get to start all over again. )

I don't like talking on a telephone either, or I at least prefer to use text or some other way to take care of business. Certain people I like to talk on the phone with, but there are few of them. I'm not sure why or even how long I've felt this way, and whether or not it's possibly due to childhood trauma. But yet when the CSR lies, they never can find the recording.
