I absolutely love this story. I've read it a few times and it enthralls me more with each telling. Seriously! I would love to have read more. Dinky's character as a type of Jesse Pinkman, OP? Spot on! I agree.

I feel sorry for Dinky - low self-esteem, sensitivity & high intelligence can be a toxic combination.
Everything's Eventual is a humdinger of a story - the combination of the possible and (allegedly) impossible is irresistible.

My favorite short story collection. Dinky is indeed a bad combination. Great story, though.
Dinky! I actually met him ... well, somewhere else..., anyhoo, always liked the character so finding him here after the fact was very cool, and just allowed me to enjoy the previous work that much more
Not that I'm saying the publication was previous, just my experience of the story
