I use to enjoy Seinfeld back in the late 90s...lost interest in television, pretty much, after the program ended, though -more or less; I can't really remember the last time I watched a full television program in the past four or more years, and I really dislike turning my back to it and listening to it in another room, if you know what I mean; Steven King is correct, one is best to turn it off. Or, as I think, shoot the TV like Elvis did -(albeit at a gun range or in a farmer's field, and not in a residence)...I think the Amish know something that we are still, as a culture, learning, day by day. [...too long winded?]

Stanwyck ;)

Being a Baby Boomer, I've seen a lot of TV pass through American culture. Only a few have stayed with me over the years. Rod Serling and Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Carol Burnett and her gang, M*A*S*H, Buffy and Angel, Monk, Psych, American Horror Story. So my favorite TV people are the ones from those shows.

Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wanted Dead or Alive, Have Gun Will Travel. My very favorite westerns were The Lone Ranger, and Cheyenne. All the guys who played in them.
Didn't care much for anything else but the westerns. Still don't.

Yes, I liked the westerns too; I have some older Spaghetti Westerns on DVD that I forgot about, and I`m a bit of a space opera fan too (star trek, star trek the next generation, etc; I think a blend of a space opera battles and some older western melees of milieus would make for a great tv series; I guess there is something like that on Netflix/or Amazon prime...if you had the desire for video and 'corrupted' audio, to look for it and watch it -but I find video too mind numbing, these days; maybe I just don't have the analytical skills to watch videos in a thoughtful manner, anymore; I don't know -but I'd rather fill up my Kindle cloud reader on the PC with books, these days, and try to work through all of the purchased materials, instead (...I enjoyed the Gunslinger novel of the Dark Tower series, partly, since the protagonist has two colt .45s (they look like 6 shooter colt .45s) and since he moves through a realm much as a loner cowboy would. The Tullen shoot out scene, with it's collection of odd characters, is one of my favorite 'gun-em-all-down' scenes. (send her to '19' already, lol).

yes, MASH was a good series, for it's time and even up to now; it's counter culture views to the Korean conflict and the valuing of enemy soldiers' lives, was a humane theme within the series. it's definitely a classic from the 20th century, but I find it difficult to watch these days, on account of the somewhat unrealistic dialogue...

Do you like The Big Valley?
I love that show! My husband and I DVR it every day and watch it over the weekend. There are a number of episodes which deal with very heavy topics (mentally illness & rape to name but 2) which I always find surprising for not only a western but a show from the 1960s.

And then there's a young Lee Majors. Sigh.

Actually, she's billed as Miss Barbara Stanwyck. :)
And she is one of the BEST American actresses ever, in my opinion.
