I had a salami sandwich earlier today. I hadn't eaten salami in a while.
While eating it, I kept biting into this tough stringy thing that seemed to be wrapped around the slices. I seem to have a memory that sometimes salami has that, and that it is basically okay to eat (although it is tough to eat).
I ate some of it, some of it I did not. But I wanted to know, because I don't remember...is this plastic? String? Or is it a natural part of the meat? The slices were too thin to take whatever it was off, but I just wanted to know if my memory is correct that this is normal on salami and that it won't cause any problems.
