Uniforms that are far better than the ones that replaced them

Some teams' old uniforms are much smarter, more well-designed and more exciting than the ones they replaced them with, in my opinion. Here are a few that would make the world a better, happier, kinder place instantly if they were brought back. Does anyone agree, disagree or have any thoughts at all they would care to articulate?












And am I the only person in the world who thinks the old Seahawks uniforms are just plain sexy? I don't dislike the new ones, but this just looks so, well, cool...

We once nicknamed a guy we dealt with all the time "Seahawk". The color of paint he liked to huff was EXACTLY the color of the old Seahawk uniforms. The mug shots were crazy. He had silver paint all over his face. He claimed that particular color got him higher...

Oh yeah. Those are very sexy...er cool. The new ones are okay as long as they don't wear those shocking green abominations.

I liked the Dolphins old dark teal much better than the newer ones. They usually only brought the dark teal out on nationally televised night games. They usually wore white at home in the day to force the other team to wear dark colors in the Florida sun. The Dolphins had the opponents bench strategically placed to be in the blazing sun too.

What do you make of the Dolphins' new helmet logo? As you may have guessed from the enormous bolded and underlined sentence at the top of my post, I'm not a fan. The old one was beautiful, a design classic, well worth however much they paid the original designer, whereas the new one looks to me like something designed in ten minutes to stick on the t-shirts of employees of a swimming pool.

I like the old Dolphins logo better.

All of these changes are just to sell more apparel. Expect new designs every few years. What I really hate more than the logo redesigns are all of the different colors they are using for uniforms. Instead of the old home and away format, now there seems to be all of these specialty uniforms they bring out only once.

Heehee, glad it's not just me! These colours just look so right, don't they? Refreshing, effortlessly cool.

....which is to push fan apparel sales.....as far as helmet redesigns-maybe a slightly different shade of overall orange for the Clowns???.....

Glad the NY Jets went back to the basic form of the helmet from when I first started following them in 1967.

Glad the NY Jets went back to the basic form of the helmet from when I first started following them in 1967.

Hear, hear. I love the 1978 - '97 helmet, but the old/new one is a real beauty. A really lovely piece of design, and it's nice to see such things being appreciated by an enormous corporation, rather than abandoned in the name of "progress".
