I thought that he was long gone... Dio,(!!) he was right in your neck of the woods up there in the Poconos. The man hunt was in the news everyday, sometimes it seemed every couple of hours.

Good for the law, for keeping up the search. I really thought that he was somewhere laughing at them for still looking in the same spots.

Best part, now the kids can go back to school and have a Halloween. And the families of these officers can have some sort of closure.

Yup seemed he was using an abandoned airplane hanger near one of those defunct Pocono honeymoon resorts (you know the kind... with the clear champagne glass bathtubs) up around Tannersville. I drove past it a couple of weeks ago when I took my father-in-law to a casino near there for his birthday. That area has been heavily searched by state police, but it is awfully wooded. Didn't have his guns on him when caught.

Yes. I am honestly embarrassed that I thought it seemed to became a keystone cop kinda thing. I became annoyed. C'mon! he is gone!

What do I know? They knew what they were doing. But the guy was slick.

Did the police ever come to your house, DiO?

I have heard about those champagne glasses hot tub......... And drove by a few places that had them. just sayin.

Glad they got him.

To bad about the reward, DiO. I would have been happy to split it with you....
LOL. Most people I talked to thought he was long gone from that area. Guess we were all wrong about that. The whole thing didn’t affect me much. I live on the southwestern most end of the Poconos. That area he was in is quite a bit north of me (although not too far from a vacation spot my father-in-law owns but we haven't gone there in many months). Our schools weren’t affected by it, but we were notified to keep our car and home doors locked, and stay vigil.

No the police never came because we are located quite a distance away from that area.

And those tubs are never as clear and clean as you see in the pictures, and are rather tacky up close and personal... not that I ever used one.

The search Law Enforcement had to conduct is very unique. It's not quite like a search for a missing person where everyone fans out and you pretty much cast a dragnet over a certain area trying to turn over every rock, tree, and branch. This kind of search has to be done in teams where you have to worry about every tree, rock, or mount hiding a guy with a high powered rifle. Searches like this will often involve a team of guys sitting out in the woods for hours or days, watching a certain area for movement. It's somewhat like deer hunting, you pick a spot, get comfortable, remain motionless and hope he comes across your sights. I would say they probably had the abandoned airport staked out as a possible shelter for the suspect. Whichever way they did it, kudos to the troopers, Feds and officers who brought him in. Your personal beliefs and need to push your manifesto is no reason to widow a wife and family by shooting a husband/father/son. I'm happy to note Pennsylvania has a death penalty, hopefully it will be fast tracked for this POS.

The DA is seeking the death penalty for Frein. Glad it’s over and they caught the scumbag. We hope he just pleads guilty to avoid a media circus and cost us millions prosecuting him.

If interested the local paper will probably have any new information on the story first.

If he's got any brains he'll plead to life w/out parole. That will probably be up to the family of the trooper that was killed. If it was my father/son, etc, I wouldn't let him take a plea. With the volume of evidence against him, the death penalty would definitely be in play if the family wants to pursue it.

I say sorry for making light of this - earlier in the thread. I think it was just relief and frustration on my part.

I now want to know how he managed to stay hidden for so long. It has been on the news every night. Someone saw him with a gun..
Some lady had chicken blood all over her fence. They interviewed her with a rifle slung over shoulder... yeaaa let em try ... (now she was scary)

Then they sent in the drones. Maybe that is what finally did it?

I would not want to be walking around Poconos during that time.

Thank you. Very well stated, Ghost!... And your avatar is quite fitting in this case.

He is on the news again.

How come he is so clean shaven? Yea, he has a cut on the nose. Somebody probably popped him.

But the guy should look a bit more "rough".... for eating leaves and stuff they made us believe.
By this time next week, his lawyer will have him wearing a three piece suit for every court appearance. Semblance of normalcy type thing. "Look at my clean cut, well dressed client, he couldn't have done these horrible things you accuse him of, he was under a lot of stress, bad parenting, he was bullied as a child."....blah blah blah. Everyone is entitled to counsel, even dirt bags like this guy. There will be lines of defense lawyers trying to represent this guy,...whatever it takes to get your name on TV.
