Being ill heightens whatever emotions I experience from whatever I'm reading - maybe it's the same for you (of course, as I'm permanently "not well", reading is the best distraction ).
Thank goodness, no medication comes with the warning "do not read scary books". Yet. .
Hope you're out and about now and feeling a whole heap better.

Oh, and if the avatar is your dog, is he/she still speaking to you after dressing him/her up like that?

What did you bribe him/her with? A cat? (no disrespect intended to cat-lovers. Some of the nicest people who've jumped into my wheelchair - with or without me in it - are cats.)

I have photographic evidence of cats schluffing in my wheelchair - when I find it, I'll post it, but it's the middle of the night on this side of the Atlantic so ליל מנוחה and חלומות פז - in English, restful night, sweet dreams, folks.

lowman - I'm so sorry.
I guess it's too much to hope that you're based in the UK (preferably England).
If you are in England, time to start a conversation with me - we still have some form of employment legislation in this country :angry_002:

I thought it was one of his best collections too. 1922 was absolutely jaw dropping ! Really Shocking. The Good Marriage too was sooo chilling . I wish that the movie could have captured all the fear and terror felt in the pages of the book, but it really wasn't possible. Those two were my favorites. This one holds a special place with me it was the last one that me and John had discussed and praised to each other about Stephen's masterful storytelling.

I bought this from iBooks to read on my iPad. When holding it in portrait position, it says there are 666 pages. Coincidence? I don't think so.
Welcome to SKMB Frostproof
Full Dark, No Stars is a great book!
:cheerful:

I'm holding a copy of the book in Ohio in 2014 at one of the King Kons
