In Dallas couple years ago & noticed in Dealey Plaza that Mr Dealey's forenames were George Bannerman. Wonder if he's the source of the character name given Mr King's interest in the JFK story?

The chances are very good that's where it came from as Stephen visited the Museum and Dealey Plaza when he was writing the book. George Bannerman Dealey, for whom Dealey Plaza was named, was the Publisher of The Dallas Morning News.
