Thank you all for your kind words. I didn't even know this was discussed here as I haven't really been online in the past month. It is six weeks today since the flood and I still don't have my basement rebuilt yet. Hopefully Friday the last of the plumbing and electrical work will be finished and then I will be able to move supplies back and start to rebuild my collection.
As this tragedy is far from over, and I will refrain from going into specifics, suffice to say, insurance is never a safety net that will make you whole. Regardless of how well you think you are covered, how much your agent assures you, and how current you keep your premiums up to date, you will get a rude awakening when you actually have to make a claim.
It was bad luck that I decided over Christmas to rearrange the shop, but there is no point closing the barn door once the horse has bolted, the damage was done. I have had more luck from kind souls that mailed me books to sell, as well as a lovely care package from Owen King, which was completely by surprise. I am doing everything in my power to keep the shop open and please God if visitors to Bangor this summer come to the shop, I will be here to greet you all. Thank you for the prayers and sorry if my joke with the bones was believed by some, it was only meant to add some levity to a very tense situation.

Thanks for the update, Gerald. I wish you all the best in this time of trouble. I do have my own collection of books insured but haven't updated it in a couple of years, so that is something that needs to be looked at from me.
