Has anyone decided what to pass out for Halloween. We bought four large bags of Tootsie rolls. We have many trick-or-treaters. How about you,do you get many?

That's sad, girl! Yes, break the habit. I love seeing the little kids in their costumes. I think king family fan had the scariest clown I've ever seen in my life a couple years ago. Do you still have that picture Linda? I'd love to be scared all over again.I just turn off the lights. A habit from growing up without money to buy candy for the trick-or-treaters. I should try to break this habit...
I will someday, when I have a place of my own and feel settled. I adore Halloween! That's sad, girl! Yes, break the habit. I love seeing the little kids in their costumes. I love Halloween. My birthday is the day after Halloween and when I was a kid,I use to take my Halloween candy to school to pass out as a treat. My mom refused to buy a treat when I had all that candy.I always told my mom I was one day late to be here little Witch.I will someday, when I have a place of my own and feel settled. That's sweet, taking your candy to school to share for your birthday! You're an All Saints Day baby! I have a summer birthday so I never got to celebrate at school.I love Halloween. MaryJanes were one of Mama's favorite candies, from way back from her days at that Catholic Orphan asylum.I have been living rural. No kids. But always bought some just in case.
But before, when had the house, lordy - people would drive the kids to neighborhood. Stop at every drive way. We had to work for our candy.
I would always get stuck with the leftover MaryJanes. cause nobody likes em.
That is such a touching story.MaryJanes were one of Mama's favorite candies, from way back from her days at that Catholic Orphan asylum.
If there was just left she'd mighta arm wrestled ya for it, but most likely just swiped it and said tough nuggies, it's mine.
When she lived in Cincinnati at the end of a cul-de-sac, she'd put out a chair on the sidewalk with this huge plastic jack-o-lantern, probably close to four gallons.
She filled it with "penny candy" she'd buy all year, and somehow managed not to eat all of it, and when the kiddos would come by she'd tell 'em to grab a big handful, the wee'est ones she'd help 'em out or have 'em snag two...she loved Halloween.
Me I've always lived out in the boonies, but when moved her out in there, she'd still go out there with her giant jack-o-lantern, didn't matter, and she'd actually get a few people to stop their cars, that were haulin' their kids to the 'good neighborhoods', and had all those lil'spooks and goblins grab a couple hands full.
But still, we ate a lot of penny candy after Halloween...ya know I'm pretty sure she had a confection agenda, she was sneaky with the sweet stuff that way.
I'm coming to your place...We don't get many trick or treaters, partly because this is big LDS area and their churches have 'trunk or treats' to keep their kids from going door to door, and partly because we live across the street from one school and next door to another; maybe people don't see our lights? Anyway, we buy good candy for those who do come because we'll likely get to eat it Smarties, Reeses PB cups, little candy bars, that kind of stuff.
