I had some scary moments today because there was an explosion at Syncrude in Fort McMurray.....yes the place they had the major fire last spring. My family members who work there are okay...thank God. I want to pray for the folks who were injured and taken to the hospital. Hope the responders are safe too.

I figure by 2018 I will either be still at this new job, but rather low on the totem pole when it comes to choosing two weeks off in July/August
or - I could be back at my old job where I would have more seniority but back to a 7 - 3 shift Monday through Friday (with the odd weekend thrown in) - [bonus being I would be more likely to get two weeks off in a row in the summer when everyone wants to take their vacation]
or - I could be completely retired or else semi-retired
What about you - any chance you could make the big trip? staropeace

This is awful - what is it about Fort McMurray? Are they doing dangerous work up there?

Could use positive thoughts and prayers for my Granddaughter. She is having a very upsetting night. Her friend and another student from her school . Anyhow, it was released today that there bodies were found. It is under investigation and has been declared a double homicide. She is 15 and this friend . Had asked her on a date but she isn't allowed to date until she is 16. He said he would wait for her. So she is taking it extremely hard. She has never had to deal with Death before.
Prayers and thoughts for your granddaughter are being said. Candle will be lit for her friend. I hope the school will provide some counselors.

I'm saddened to hear this, Linda. At the appropriate time I hope she seeks counseling (as Spidey suggested) if she's comfortable with that. That is a lot for her to comprehend, I'm sure. God bless you guys.

Prayers for all those at Fort McMurray. Many, many prayers for KFF's granddaughter and all the families involved. What an incredible shock this is for someone so young; and to lose your child in this violent way is truly horrifying. Please, Lord hear our prayers.
