I'm on vacation, so I bought a couple of Stephen King books to read, namely Salem's Lot and 11/22/63. I read Salem's Lot first and loved it. I just finished 11/22/63 a couple hours ago and it is my favorite. My other books are from some other authors, but I definitely plan to check out more of King's work after the great experiences I had with these first two books. It is cool to see there is a forum here to discuss his work.

Wow! Jealous! Did you ever meet any of the cast members?
Yes! I met the man himself one year! He sang Orange and Blue and had me in tears. I saw him at the Grand Ol Opry too.

I met Goober (George Lindsey) and Thelma Lou (Betty Lyn) there. Every year, Charlene (Maggie Peterson) came, and George Spence (had a brief part in an episode and was friends with Andy years after). Ernest T. Bass's (Howard Morris) son came one year, as did Elinor Donahue (Ellie Walker). The Dillards played there too.

Betty Lyn liked it so much in Mount Airy, that she has a place and lives there now!

It's a wonderful place.
