I am thrilled and tickled to let you know that our very own GNTLGNT has agreed to be our editor for the final Halloween story here on our beloved
Stephen King Message Board.

I can't think of a more fitting person to lead us this one last time. He's written every year and championed the stories and the writers, a great supporter. (Last year was a season of loss for our Scott and he was unable to contribute.) But, he's going to take us home this year.

With the shortened board week, holidays and vacation closures, we don't have a lot of time. So, please sign up to be a part of the story.

Scott will come in to tell us when the sign ups will close and give us a leader talk. His expectations.

And we need Jordan Moderator -- to set up a story area for the contributors.

This is it kids. This is our last story. It's all in fun no matter what skill level you have. Spideyman , can you link to some of our past stories so people have an idea that this is for everyone. Beginners to more advanced writers. It's serious fun!

Love the image of the jack-o-lanterns. Do you happen to know where the photo was taken and when?

Great too to hear about the story. Can't wait to see it posted and see what it is about, or if it somehow ties into the final year of the board (i.e., the closing is the subject matter). Of course, it's a long way off until mid-October...at least I'll have The Institute to help pass the time...

Yeah, go on then... might be like old times. (Though, a bit easier on Marsha than the first story was. :biggrin2: )

just googled Halloween and went to images and found that photo. Not sure about any of the deets. It's pretty vibrant, isn't it?

Hopefully next week we will have the writer's area set up, so those of you who want to write in the story, start speaking up in this thread.

Access to that writer's area where all the story elements and writing queue assignments will be handed out will only be open to participants.

....Hiya kids!.....I only volunteered for this mission because of my love for this Board and the people who regularly inhabit it....for those who participate, I ask forbearance due to the fact I have never tackled something like editing, except my own silly claptrap....but, then again-I had never written for entertainment prior to this legendary story effort either.....we will do this and do it together.....I want no more than a dozen writers, but will flex numbers if there's an outcry....as far as rules, use yer dang heads!....we are all adults here and I expect no political, racial, religious or other agendas and language can be semi-salty if it isn't gratuitous, yet we need to remember it's a family Board.....also, I have final say in the process, it's a cooperative effort but the big dummy here has to put the clamps on when necessary....my time is short with so much turmoil continuing in my family life, so I won't waste yours-and expect the same in return.....I want writers lined up and closed out by the 16th....Tracy and I will be on a much needed vacation from the 20th of this month to the first of October, but I will be checking in as I'm able....feel free to debate the subject matter, though I would like something very unstructured, funny and playful as our last effort.....no need to wallow in the finality-let's leave em laughing folks!!!......
