Yes it is. It most certainly is.....now I must go watch it...
The best experience ever was to see Halloween as a 14-year-old at the theater, having no idea what to expect.
We were all screaming at Laurie to Run! Run! Run! I had one friend to my left, and one to my right. My arms were red
from them grabbing them throughout the whole movie! I was super obsessed with Halloween after that. I remember it
coming on HBO (a new experience to pay for movies on your TV), and I put my little white Panasonic cassette recorder
next to the TV, and recorded the whole thing so I could listen to it whenever I wanted. Weird Girl.

OK, falling for this is like asking what day of the week Thanksgiving is on this year.........

Man, I swear the internet is making people less intelligent. Here's an apropos saying I got from my cousin's 11 year old, "I can't brain today, I has a case of the dumbs....."

Has anyone seen this meme going around?

halloween-2015-friday-the-13th-666-years.jpg

It's apparently making the rounds on social media sites. I was unaware at first, of course, because I don't do social media. Anyways, it seems a lot of people are actually believing this. I found out about it because an acquaintance told me about it and how 'spooky' it is. And he was dead serious.

I'll admit, at first glance, it seems plausible, and just creepy enough to be true. But then you have to stop and think about this a moment. Aside from the fact that Halloween doesn't even date back 666 years, Halloween, (Oct. 31) can never fall on Friday the 13th, for obvious reasons. Apparently, this fact is lost on people in their haste to accept anything they see in their facebook feed as authentic.

My point? I think social media is making people more gullible and less likely to think things through on their own.

What are some of the most bizarre and flat out wrong memes you've seen online that others accept as fact?

Oh my God, if I saw this in a theater, I don't think I would be alive now. Still scares the pumpkin outta me.

My dad took me to see it at the Drive-In in our home town. I was six years old...lol, yeah, I liked horror movies from a real young age. I pretty much couldn't walk down the dark hallway of our trailer or sleep with the lights out for a few days for fear of coming face to face with Michael Myers. My mom was SUPER pissed at my old man..lol. I still have a couple of the movie posters hanging up in my computer room here at the house. It's still my favorite horror movie of all time.

Great story! I was scared enough at 14; I can't believe you saw it at 6!
Halloween will always be my end-all favorite horror movie. Just hearing the music makes me scared and happy at the same time!

My mom took me to see the original Night of The Living Dead at a drive in. Just because all of my friends saw it the night before and kept talking about it the next day. Guess she did not want me to feel left out.

Me and my mom. Drive in. I was about 8.:eek:

We were even scared of the speaker that hung in the car. She drove out of there fast after it was over.

I watched an interview with John Carpenter a few years back on the making of the first Halloween. He's still amazed that the movie took off like it did on such a small budget. The movie cost $325,000 to make and grossed 70 million worldwide. Quite an accomplishment. The film is just genius in the way it's filmed, scored, and acted.

I saw that I think--maybe this? It really is genius.

Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline is playing Halloween II as part of it's Halloween movie marathon this year. They do 12 hours of horror films the weekend of Halloween. It will actually be on Halloween this year as it is on a Saturday. They announce the first two films and the rest are a surprise. This year's two announced films are Halloween II and Trick 'R Treat. They are also playing Halloween III earlier in the month. Leads me to think the original Halloween may be one of the other films.

My favorite Halloween decoration is a string of skull lights I hang every year that blink to the tune for that movie. I've been unable to find another and I'm afraid one day it will quit. Great music.

That's awesome!

I picked up a few Reaction Figures of Jason, Freddy and Mr. Myers. They are made by Funko. They are pretty rad!

I was in Jr high when it came out. We were in Okinawa at the time, so we probably got it the next year (1979). My friend and I talked her mom into taking us (her mom was older than my grandma. My MUCH younger parents would not have been fooled into taking us--lol. She also took us to American Gigolo, but that was a whole 'nother story :chew:). Scared the absolute CRAP out of me, and it's still one of my favorite movies ever.

I saw it on the big screen as part of the promo tour Rob Zombie was doing right before he started shooting his reboot. This was 7 - 8 years ago, maybe more. Obviously had seen it on cable and countless video rentals over the years. I think I own a few different DVD / Blu-Ray versions as well. Great film. It's my personal #4 of all time greatest horror films.
