I am enjoying the ones I have recorded (from the 2014 season) - there is the odd mention e.g. they talk about 'thinnies', but really not a lot of Stephen King stuff in it

Still, now that I have gotten to know the characters it is not too bad

There's at least one King reference in every episode, sometimes more -- some of them are quite subtle. The name of a business or a character's last name.

I think the only characters of Haven that are even based off The Colorado kid are Vince and Dave at the newspaper. They were newspapermen in Colorado kid too although Vince is described as very elderly in the book.

I found it got a wee bit crazy once they introduced William Shatner into the script - I have stopped recording it for now (too busy doing my 2016 Halloween horror movie marathon at the moment)
