Well, I've been a Stephen King fan for a while (more than 15 years, I think) and my favorites are Mysery, the Green Line and soon to be, the Shining. June being for me Stephen King's books reading month, I'm finishing the Shining and it is genuinely very good. Excellent characterization, I love the thin border between madness and supernatural phenomenon. A lot more subtle than in the Stanley Kubric's film, eventhough J.Nicholson interpretation was excellent, it was not the Jack Torrance I'm reading about. The progression toward the climax is just brilliant and well paced, which is the mark of a great story teller.
