I have had a month full of serious ups and downs. I don't know what's going on but I know I'm being tested.
And, as most of you know, I have very little faith in humanity. Well, I have been given some hope.
Today a coworker bursts into my office and tells me that my car has been hit in the parking lot. I think, of course, that my car is going to be completely smashed as I run outside.
I get there. My rear view mirror is demolished, glass all over, but my actual car is fine.
AND, get this, there's a note!!! I did not see that coming.
So I'm surveying the damage and reading the note when two men walk up to me.
One is a business owner in the business park I work in and the other is the guy that hit my car. They were looking for me. The actually run a fleet of trucks so they offered to fix it for me, or they said we could go through insurance. The poor guy who hit me looked devastated and swore over and over that he was fine with going through insurance. I told them to just fix it.
My point is this - they could have taken off and never said a word. They didn't, though. They were so kind that the least I could do was save them from taking a huge hit on insurance. And they should have it fixed today.
So for all of you out there who also have no faith in humanity - people can really be good. There are people who want to do the right thing. It's really refreshing.
