It's hard to find out that someone you care about has lied to you. Seriously, I'd rather someone just tell me what stupidity or evil they've committed than lie about it, because the lie is disrespectful on top of everything else. It's saying that you're too dumb or too weak to hear the truth. Lying is awful.

I completely agree with this. Very well said. Being lied to is one of the things I hate the most.

Yes, I've been in touch and very clear. It's clear to me that it was a scam all along, between that person and a few other friends. And yes, the fact that it was a loan and not a gift was, alas only verbally, confirmed more than once.

Not for a while, since I brought the matter up. I figure I'll either hear from that person a plan to pay me back or not to. My experience has been that the individual will not respond to anything unwelcome to that person's senses.

I would try the "....the time has come for repayment now please beginning with the first installment on the ..... of October 2015. A fortnightly payment of $50 would be most appreciated, but I am open to discussion on the bi-weekly amount. Please contact me as soon as possible as to the method of repayment. I am happy to have been of assistance to you in your time of need...."

A couple of years ago a group of friends gave me a leg up, I tried to pay them back and they wouldn't accept it. Whenever I am able now, in whatever way I can, I help folks out... it's not always monetarily. It helps me to feel better about my friends not accepting repayment.

He/she is not within a day's traveling distance, at least if he/she lives where he/she claims to, nor could I trust a physical address or feel safe visiting it.

Nothing compared to what some people here are going through.Sunny I only wish people would understand how they hurt others with their lies. Blunt people can be so deceiving to get your money. Me well my dog keeps chewing things.* years we have had him and he chewed up my flooring. Iam so pissed, he may be getting a new home. Iam really upset. Sorry for the rant.

This is what I'm thinking.....and I've almost concluded that our entire 34 year friendship has been a lie.
I've even wondered if he's leading some sort of crazy double life, and it bothers me beyond words.

Has anything changed recently that would cause stress to the dog? Could he have a hidden health issue?

I wanna go back to living with my dad but my sisters and my dad won't let me. I have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but the doctors don't know what they are talking about. They just labelled me with having it just because they THINK something is wrong with me but don't know what. There's nothing wrong with me and my sisters and my dad won't let me go home until I'm cured. But I can't be cured of something that I don't have. I'll have to live at this place for the rest of my life, unfortunately.

A friend of our family died from cancer this morning at the age of 46 and in the block round the corner from my house there are assorted wastes of space who don't work, sell drugs and generally mess up the neighbourhood who will probably live into their 80's.

Just seeing this now - sincere condolences EAST COASTER
