'tis a sad day for me; the doctor says I can't drink pop any more because it can interfere with my medicine and mess up my blood sugar. My mom has vowed to stop buying me pop and that means that the novel I was working on is dead, I can't work without caffeine. Guess I could always drink coffee, but it's not the same as an ice cold Pepsi. Also, my mom has to prick my finger every week or so, and I hate having my finger pricked.

Well, that`s too bad if you like it so much.
I didn`t have a pop in about 8-9 years, not even one glass of it, there is indeed way too much sugar in it.
The only drink with bubbles I drink is soda water.
Don`t give up on your novel, have you even tried to write without your fave drink?
Just keep on chugging away, you will get used to it, fingers crossed. :)

I hope there is some way I can continue the novel, the first chapter I wrote was actually really frigging creepy.

I've never been a big fan of pop (did not have it when we grew up or just very seldom).

However I did drink a lot of regular coffee for many years. When I decided to go decaf I had some withdrawal symptoms at first, but eventually your body will adjust.

Good luck!

Maybe switch to fruit juice mixed with club soda?
