Blame it on being a pregnant mom of 4 and only reading 10-20 pages at a time.... but I do not understand the ending. Please explain.

The book starts with Hodges in Dr. office in 2016.
The book ends on August 30th 2015.

I would really love if anyone could explain this to me. I cannot find any info, which leads me to believe I'm the only confused person. I have missed something. Thanks

The August 2015 date refers to the date Steve finished writing it.

Maybe because it was a trilogy and the start date would have been when he started Mr. Mercedes? You have a copies of MMs and FKs handy Ms. Mod? Be interested to know if both start and finish dates were in both of those.

Looked back at MM and FK and he didn't include the beginning date in those either so perhaps it was for consistency.
