I'm coming clean. I have to admit it. Here goes: I've never read this book. It's the only King book I don't own. I fear I will be bored stiff...don't hate me.

Tower, give it a try. It spans so many degrees of feelings. Think of it as a diary written by two baseball fans- how they felt, the surprises, the anticipation, the little funny spots. It does help if you know some baseball terminology, but not a must. I wasn't going to buy it, until a member had several copies he offered at a good price. I never regretted reading it. I think you'll enjoy it. King is so down to earth and funny!!
Thanks for the advice Spidey! When you put it that way, it sounds much more appealing. I will put it on my "to get and read" list!
Just remember that my experience has always been that I've never thought any of his books would be nearly as enjoyable to me as they ended up being. This attitude has always been due to my assuming something about what the story would be based either on its title or assumed subject matter. There's no sK book title which doesn't interest me now, regardless of what a movie based on it or opinion voiced of it may've been like, such as Firestarter, which I've yet to read. I just finished 'Salem's Lot, which I never dreamed I'd like as much as I did.
OK, if we're baring our souls here- I only read Steve's parts.......

I haven't either but I've got a better excuse than most of you people have, which is that I've only been a CR since 2006, and I read soooo slowly.
I enjoyed this book as it is nonfiction and i love Steve's nonfiction voice. I love the peak into his life and the things he enjoys.

Steve's parts? Those should be the sole property of Tabitha (Does she know you've been perusing his parts?)
I've never read it either, and although I love Sai King and baseball, I doubt I ever will. Just not that interested.

Why are you not interested, though, unless you are assuming something about the book? The point I made above - and in a number of threads in which I've posted concerning the question of whether or not to read a certain sK title - is that there's no way of knowing whether or not any book, but especially sK's, will interest you unless you at least start reading it.

But I do love his books so maybe I shall order it from the library. Then if I like it I will buy it

I haven't checked all of them...but Faithful isn't listed in that "Works by Stephen King" list inserted at the beginning of most of my SK books. I wonder why that is? Looks like it was published in 2005...so maybe when the publishers made the "works" list, or when they inserted the list, they didn't bother to update the list? They don't make "works" lists like they used to.
Obvious question: Are The Talisman, Black House, and any others he's collaborated on included?
