Why are you not interested, though, unless you are assuming something about the book? The point I made above - and in a number of threads in which I've posted concerning the question of whether or not to read a certain sK title - is that there's no way of knowing whether or not any book, but especially sK's, will interest you unless you at least start reading it.
I've just never had the desire to read it. No knock on it, and who knows, someday I might pick it up. But thus far, I have no interest in picking in up.

I have owned this book for years but haven't read it...I scanned through some of it but I have a hard time getting interested in my own team let alone the team of other cities. I got to meet Stewart O'Nan several months ago and asked him if he would ever do a sequel, he said they've talked about it a bit but haven't come close to deciding anything, both are very busy men. Stewart also mentioned that the book was originally meant to be about why the fans kept coming back after years of futility (hence the title "Faithful"), and the BoSocks "kind of ruined it by winning the World Series" that year!

I'm biased, because I'm a Red Sox fan, but I loved it. King and his co-author started this book assuming the Sox would do what they always used to do, fall short of a World Series title. But wouldn't you know it? The King magic kicked in, and the year he writes a Sox book, the Sox win the title. The journey through the season is really entertaining, but I think King, like a lot of Sox fans, didn't know how to react when they finally won it. I haven't read this since just after it came out, but I sort of remember the end being sort of anti-climactic. Both authors were too stunned to properly sum up their feelings. Sometimes feelings are too powerful for the written word to describe. I do think it's safe to say this is unlike anything else he's written.

As a side note, sometimes on TV you'll see King sitting in the stands at Fenway watching the Sox. He usually has a book, and reads between innings. THAT is a dedicated reader.

In the movie Fever Pitch Stephen King threw out the opening pitch. If you have never seen the movie you should watch it (I recorded it on my PVR). It has Drew Barrymore as well as Jimmy Fallon in it and it's quite good (it's a comedy as well as a romance so not a "chick flick" as such).

I'm coming clean. I have to admit it. Here goes: I've never read this book. It's the only King book I don't own. I fear I will be bored stiff...don't hate me.
Gasp! Get off of this board IMMEDIATELY!!! xD
I own a good number of his books (hand-me-downs, mostly), but have read few of them! I think 5-9 or thereabouts. :)
