My loved ones appreciate this story and I hope some of you do too. If there is any place to share this, it's here!
So my dream finally came true last Saturday night. I met the man, the myth, the legend. The Ghost Brothers tour kicked off at the University of Maine campus in Orono on Nov 8th. They had a reception/dinner beforehand. Our beloved writer, Moderator, and some family were there. I walked, I stalked, I met! I could barely hold myself together when he walked in yet somehow managed not to go completely batty(on the outside anyway). The first person I approached was Madame Marsha. Yep, she is pretty much the cutest little thing ever and contrary to her iron fist ruling on these boards() one of the sweetest. If you're reading this Ms. Mod it was a pleasure to meet you and I apologize for my semi rambling. It was part nerves, part trying to hurry so you could sit down and eat dinner. I wish we had longer to chat but I'll take what I can get. Thank you.
After my encounter with the Madame there he was.....at the other end of the table. My friend gave me the courage to go up to him by saying it might be my last chance because dinner was about to start so I did it. I walked up and said that I had been waiting a long time for this, shook hands, asked how he thought the Red Sox were going to do in 2015, he talked about it for a small bit, I asked him for a picture which he graciously obliged and that was it. I promptly changed my Facebook profile picture to it and it's the most likes and comments I've ever gotten! lol.Of course you always think of things you wish you had said after the fact(wanted to thank him for bringing the WS trophies to Bangor and tell him that myself, my dad, and stepmom ended up on the front of the Bangor Daily News posing with said trophies)but when you're caught up in the moment and nervous as all get out that's the way it goes. It went great.
Then yesterday my friend and I got in line at 3:30am in Portland for next weeks signing, we were about 80-100 people back and we got our tickets and books! Can't wait to see him next Monday.
A little taste of yesterdays line.....yeah, I'm briefly in the shot. A couple of people were there at 10am Monday morning and camped out!
Thanks for reading and letting me share this with you guys!
