Woah!
57 ain't old, your in the prime of your life. I know a bloke who got retrenched and he just got these little card type things that are magnetic on the back so people can put them on their refrigerator. Gardening Services and general home maintenance/painting and just through word of mouth he's got a regular clientele and that means regular work.Hi All. I turned in my two weeks notice on Saturday so June 3rd will be my last day of employment. I have no job lined up to go to. I finally reached the point where I could not take any more of the stupidity of management and stress that this job involves. Plus, my manager basically called me a liar on the walkie-talkie headsets that everyone wears and even after it being pointed out to him by another employee that he was in the wrong (I wasn't lying) he didn't have the decency to apologize to me for his mistake. Sorry, but one of my main credos in life is don't call me a liar. I cannot work for someone who obviously doesn't think very highly of me or respect me. Many of you know that I have not been happy at my job for quite some time. My inner voice tells me it's time to move on and that's what I'm doing. There's so many things wrong with this job and company and I'm not going to have a mental breakdown because of a job. I'm scared out of my mind as I'm a 57 year old male with limited skills so I don't know what's going to happen in the next few months but I intend to give it my best. I'm going to need as many well wishes and happy thoughts that you all can spare. Thanks for 'listening'.
I didn't take the time to dance- I just wanted OUT OF THERE!!!! Ahhh, Christopher Walken- I read that it's in his contract of every movie that he makes that there is a dance routine filmed, it may not make it into the movie but it's filmed. Strange man, this Walken guy....Dan--I pictured you walking out on your last day like this:
We do this song in Zumba that is called "Fireball" by Pitbull. I was thinking this when you said Fireball.sounds like a fireball kind of night krf!

In all seriousness, doing "vindictive" things when one leaves a place of employment may have repercussions that could potentially hurt the remaining employees that have nothing to do with your leaving and still have to earn a living. No, not vindictive. Just tired. I have thought about doing an all store page announcing '75% off everything in the men's department for the next 5 minutes!' But, they would make me reimburse them for the losses........
It was a joke.In all seriousness, doing "vindictive" things when one leaves a place of employment may have repercussions that could potentially hurt the remaining employees that have nothing to do with your leaving and still have to earn a living.

Oh, I know it was. Sorry! I was addressing this to the general audience. It was a joke.
...exactly the scenario where I am.....also helps if you know WHERE your employees are.....at a staff meeting a couple of weeks ago-she inquires "where is so & so?", said party had been on vacation for a week and still was, and this genius approved the leave!.....One thing I come to realize in the corporate world is that managers and executives would rather go down in flames for their choices than ever admit they made a mistake in getting rid of someone or that their actions caused a good employee to leave.
It's all good. I actually was quite calm and happy my last week there. Felt like the weight of the world was gone from my shoulders. Spokane's gay pride is this weekend and I'm actually going to be able to go to it (as long as the weather holds).Oh, I know it was. Sorry! I was addressing this to the general audience.
