I am so right there with this. There is a top layer of any body of water that is warmed by the sun, about 2 foot ish is heated up. I pull my legs up into that warm area. Anything below that line of demarcation is monster food.

Because, everyone knows that monsters of the deep don't feed in that warm level.

Just go with me on this.

.....Oh I do!......Went fishing in a very remote part of Canada about 20 years ago, the lake was even more removed from any trappings of civilization.....as I waited for a fish to impale itself on my hook, all I kept imagining was creatures from Lovecraft and King watching from their spider holes at the rocky bottom.....yeep.......
