...she is from the Southwestern part of Ohio....several hours away from my locale, haven't heard any local buzz-but this is an abomination!....
I'm curious how they are going to get the murder charge. The pathologist says he/she? can't determine cause of death. They do know the baby was breathing at some point, but, it could have been a failure to thrive. At least I think the defense could argue that the baby stopped breathing on its own.

She could only be charged with a crime against the corpse in that case.

(I personally do believe she killed the baby, but not seeing how they will prove that.)

Some singer called "Macklemore" is singing at the Rugby League Grand Final this year and what's got people a bit hot under the collar is the fact that the National Rugby League have backed the 'Same Sex Marriage/Marriage-Equality" Plebiscite( In the mail every eligible voter here should recieve a survey form asking if they want to vote 'Yes' or 'No' for a change in the 'Marriage Act' to include same sex people wanting to get married. The NRL have stated that they back the Same Sex marriage campaign, but what's got people thinking is whether 'Macklemore' is going to sing a song that he had that was supposedly supporting gay men's relationships. I've never heard of the guy before now, I heard they a paying him a seven figure sum. I would have got other entertainment like Billy Idol or Guns and Roses or Van Halen.

You don't know Thrift Shop? I love Macklemore. His song Same Love is one of my favorites.

...article I read stated something to the effect of forensic pathology working to see if they could determine some of these things, despite the condition of the corpse...

This is awesome and groundbreaking. The amazing Doris Burke will become the first woman to work NBA games as an announcer. She's was a star basketball player many years ago and has worked NBA games for years as a sideline reporter. She would occasionally get a fill in role as an analyst for a single game and she always did great. She's had kind of a cult following for years among us basketball fans. Here's an excerpt from an article I read on the announcement:

Doris Burke will become the first woman to work the NBA circuit as a full-time national analyst, covering regular season games as well as the NBA playoffs. She also will keep her role as sideline reporter for the NBA Conference Finals and NBA Finals, and contribute to some college basketball telecasts on a limited basis. She’s scheduled to call her first game in her new role tomorrow.

The news about Burke’s promotion passed quietly. The turmoil of every day in Trump’s America raged on: Puerto Rico was decimated by Hurricane Maria with little relief in sight, the president who should have been focused on Puerto Rico decided to attack NFL players instead, and yet another NCAA scandal happened. There was little space left to celebrate Burke’s achievement and rightfully give it the attention it deserved.

Like most avid basketball fans, I’m not the least bit surprised by this achievement. But as a woman in the world in the sports world, I’m still in awe of it. To me, Burke is and always has been the professional, poised commentator and sideline reporter I grew up admiring from my perch on my living room couch. Her basketball acumen was and still is uncanny—the way she breaks down plays and somehow knows every single NBA player’s history, shot style, pros and cons is downright absurd, let alone impressive.

Congratulations to Doris for breaking a glass ceiling.

Will let this stay as it is an important news item -- it touches on political, but that it not the focus of the story.

Congrats to her!
