Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forum.

Not good.

Surprising that the budget is only $30 million. I can see that in a sense, but I probably would have gone for tentpole-status on this one.

As someone commented, one has to wonder if this will ever be made.

My wife told me about it. She said they also decided on who will play Pennywise. Never heard of the actor. My hopes for this thing being good are starting to run rather low.

Yeah, I agree. I don't really know what the solution is, but I have always thought that the development process in Hollywood is too long and that mistakes can be made during it in the pursuit of perfection. Whether this is the right way to go or not, I would just hope they quickly hire someone who is competent and just tell the person to do your best. If the adaptation doesn't come out well, they can always remake it again. The important thing is for action to be taken, and to not halt the momentum.

I would love to see this redone. I absolutely hated the IT production. And I would just once love for Stephen to get a miniseries project to someplace like HBO or Netflix. Netflix has been doing some really interesting and fantastic original series, I would love to see what they could do with a Stephen King piece.

That's a good point, Dana. Why isn't King on HBO? Martin is. Why not King? That's actually strange when you stop to think about it. HBO should be clamoring for him. At least turn some of his short stories into a Tales From the Crypt/Ray Bradbury Theater sort of thing.

HBO originally held the rights for Rose Madder but it was never produced and they were part of one deal to do The Dark Tower but that has moved on. So they have been in consideration but as with many film projects, the projects haven't come to fruition with the company that was being considered or that held an option.

My son and I were just talking about this. I personally think Quentin is a total weirdo, BUT, I do think he makes fascinating movies. I would LOVE to see what he would do with some King.
