I love the Olympics, especially the ceremonies, and call me an old sap but I love seeing countries finding common ground in athletic competition.
Did you watch men's moguls? When Alex took over 1st place from the Russian skier, the guy congratulated him. It was such a wonderful moment....one great athlete congratulating another.

I just want to see the American ice dancers Davis and White take the gold. They scored 8 points better in team free dance than the Canadians did. This is their year!
I'm hoping the Canadian team take that spot.

And I'm really hoping this is not true.

Just my own opinion here, but if it is true, the Russians are probably feeling ripped off. I think they won the team gold without cheating.

I agree that the Russians won the team skate free and clear.
I think the Americans will take the ice dance gold, though. And not just because I'm pulling for them :) In the team skate, the Americans scored, what, 3 full points higher than the Canadians in the free dance. And that's the same routine they'll do for the individual spots. It's technically a more difficult program.

I don't know enough about the marking to judge exact marks. But in the team skate, I did feel the American team deserved higher marks then the Canadian team.

But, when it comes to the top few skaters, one having a bad day and the other having a good day can make the difference of who stands where when the medals are being given out.

I am just a novice. However, I think curling is one of those events that would be fun to do, but watching it is like watching paint dry. Poor Bob Costas definitely needs a medical professional to look at those eyes.

I'm thinking of trying some curling in the house. At least it would be one way to get my wife to sweep the floor.
I say YOU need to sweep the floor OoO, and get a bucket and scrub the floor while you're at it: on your knees, boy!

And yes, please, Bob needs some real eye drops - I think Russia's just being funny - giving him placebo eye drops like that.
