Did anyone else watch this Sunday night? It was freaking amazing!! All the actors did fantastic jobs -- Brandon Victor Dixon stole the show. Of course, Judas is the juiciest role but I've seen several productions of JCSS and not every actor nails that part. Dixon, who played Aaron Burr in Hamilton, freaking killed it.

Alice Cooper did King Herod and almost stole the show. That song is fun and a good break between the Pilate scenes. The entire show is available on Hulu (I watched it all again earlier) and the NBC app (they say). If you like this musical as much as I do, I recommend you watch. The final shot will stay with you.

*small note; one of the Clockwork Angel String Ensemble that played with Rush on that tour plays lead cello for this. She's on camera quite a lot. We spotted her by her tats ;)

I have seen this done many times and you're right, not everyone nails the part of Judas. My most memeorable time was seeing it done at an open air kind of a 'bowl' in Berkely. Can't resist the Ted Neely version. The dishiest Jesus ever. I still have the sound track on vinyl.

I watched it. Then downloaded the album.

I used to have the original album. May still.

When I was in high school the kids in my World Religions class decided seeing this live would be a good school trip. Teacher did not arrange....so we did it ourselves on a weekend.

I still remember the scene
where Judas hangs himself. I preferred it in this production. The one I saw as a teen showed him actually hanging. It was really upsetting.

Dixon was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed Legend, Copper, and the actress that played Mary M was fabulous. But Dixon was absolutely amazing.
