Hey guys - my hubby and I have our own book review website (just a small set-up, but we've been lucky enough to have a few author interviews etc too). Anyway! just to make you all jealous, I am currently half way through The Fireman, courtesy of being sent an ARC. Yes it is a HUGE book and yes it is fantastic!!

No spoilers in that I hope ::P

I'm no book reviewer but I got my hands on an ARC copy also and this is a damn good book. Amazing writing and story telling all around.

I seem to always be at a beach when a new Joe Hill novel releases. I bought my copy of NOS4A2 down there and read a lot of it by the water. I'm leaving out for the Gulf on the 17th, so I'll probably stop by a Books A Million down there and pick up a copy of The Fireman (in addition to my pre-ordered, signed copy coming in the mail). Can't wait.

Pick up a copy of Jaws while you're there. That's good beach reading too. ;-D

He's going to be in Miami (Coral Gables). I'm going to try and get to that one. It's on a Friday night which makes things easier. Miami is only a couple of hours away from me. (Depending on traffic it's from 2-6 hours away ;-D Miami ranks up there with Atlanta for complete gridlock) There's no ticket info so maybe it's just a show up thing. I'll call the store and find out.

Florida Joe, I'm up in Tampa and am planning on taking that day off so I can get there and explore the town a little (I've never been down to the Miami area). I called the bookstore and it's free and open to the public. You don't need to buy the book from them to attend. However, I asked if you could bring other books by him to get signed and the lady on the phone replied back that she doesn't know if the publisher will allow that but if they do the store would appreciate it if you bought a copy of the fireman at the store.

Do you know if he is reading? The book website didn't really state what he was doing at this event. From Joe's blog, it sounds like he reads and signs at most events.

To be honest, she practically admitted she didn't know all of the details yet from the publishers. But yes, if you YouTube Joe Hill events they are usually of him doing a reading. So that would likely be my best guess. I already have preordered a signed copy from Joe's independent bookstore and I plan on buying a copy at the event and am praying (fingers crossed) that he'll sign my copy of the PS Publishing 10 year anniversary of 20th Century Ghosts.

The Fireman is a terrific book and I am very excited about this event!

Funny you should mention 20th Century Ghosts. I bought the 10th anniversary edition from Cemetery Dance not long ago and was thinking of taking it with me too.

I also pre-ordered a signed copy of The Fireman but I will definitely buy another at the event.

Are you going to the Hangout Festival? I noticed the date you are going to the Gulf is close to the date of The Hangout Festival.
