I called the library to reserve "The Tommyknockers" as long as I was re-reading a few but it turns out none of the story sounds familiar. They wrapped the book in plastic and left it on the front porch with my name on it. Anyway, if I missed this one the first time through, how many others did I miss. I remember lines from some of the early stories but no memories of Tommyknockers story.

Ahhhh, got it now.'Above my pay grade' is how. It was a bad attempt at humor. And yes, I understand the deferring thing... all this social distancing must be getting to everyone.

Hi Mary - apparently this is the one he wrote before the intervention (according to an article I read that Edward John posted earlier). I liked it, but then again I like a lot of science fiction (especially John Wyndham)
I think they closed all of our libraries to save money as they had been talking about cutting back earlier, before the whole coronavirus thing, just to save money on the city budget.

XD!!!!!!!!!!Most Europeans are totally great. It's the one's I do political battle with that seem to be the real ugly ones. Sometimes I think they stay up at night coming up with ways to try and get me banned. I'm a total headache to the moderators... but not because of what I post (as I've been told) but because of the unhinged reactions I get from most there. Seems I have the ability to make people go insane in five words or less.
Dio was just talking about a thread we used to have called Hot Topics but it got so hot that some people got "burned" - I am glad it was finally closed.

I disagree! The SKMB is the best thing a novel reader ever had.The SKMB will die in three months. It wasn't a good thing?
