Can't keep my eyes open any longer... have a lovely day and weekend everyone.
Please stay safe and think about your fellow humans... and animals. (breaks my heart to think of all the furry-ones whose mama's and papa's might not come home)

Jeez, I'm a box of fluffy ducks huh? :Oo:

Er... what I'm trying to say is if you don't care about keeping other humans safe, at least care about the animals.

That's not much better. :biggrin2:

Too tired to go for a third round...

Carry on people.

:biglove:
Sweet dreams and stay safe and healthy!

I forget the quote exactly, but I'll always loved the "Putting booties on a f@#ked-up weasel" quote from Wizard and Glass
I was not a fan of Wizard and Glass funnelly enough, but that is a good quote. I always enjoyed the mystery of Roland's past, and while some of it was really good, the whole thing with John Farson is excellent, I felt that that book really required an editor.

I didn't like it too much at first, the transition was a bit too jarring especially after I realized this took up 90% of the book. I actually really enjoyed the second half was Roland's story.
The death of Tick Tock Man was super underwhelming though, it's like King brought him back just to die immediately. I'd rather have him die in The Wastelands and just be a central antagonist of that book, instead of giving the false idea that he will reappear as a much larger threat. I really should get to actually reading the last Tower book. I hated Song of Susanna so much, especially after books 3-5, it just felt like a 400 page "Let's split up and look for clues!" Scooby doo segment. I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but the introduction of King himself into the story was also too on-the-nose. I also hate Mia (I think that was her name), I get she's supposed to be an antagonist, but it tries to make her too much of a sympathetic character and as a vessel for exposition. The Ka-tet has a lot of charisma together, and the fact that they split them all up takes a lot of the entertainment value or emotion out of the story, to me at least

What got me about the later books was that they essentially ignored Walter O'Dim, he gets eaten by Mia and that is him ... Wasn't he meant to be Roland's arch enemy? I enjoyed Song of Susannah, and the Self-titled, HATED the ending to the series though. The final book had a lot of good elements, but like I was saying, these books are far too long, that is a habit of Steve's but he could have used with an Editor on these books. The most recent Dark Tower, I thought, was excellent though. You should check out the Marvel books, they are excellent. Another thing, I really liked Susan Delgado, but would it have not have been more impactful to have her get taken out by Walter? That's just me. I feel like Steve's idea's of where the story was going kept changing to the point that he muddled his ideas.

Are you talking about Wind Through the Keyhole? It was alright, I probably would not have liked it either, had it not been a spin off. Being a spinoff, it felt more like a break in the same universe. I love lycanthrope monsters, werewolves were and still am my favorite classic monsters, so the Skin Man was a really cool antagonist for the little two part story.

Yes, Wind Through the Keyhole, the two stories, I thought, were excellent. I always wanted a story were Roland goes up against the anti-Gunslinger. Say, a disciple of the Crimson King who has been trained with guns for the sole goal of defeating Roland.

Shadow Link, yep, the right idea. There is also an anti-Batman in the DC Universe, pretty cool.
Wonder if there's an alternate universe where he fights Johny Cash.

Evil gunslingers are a cool idea. Too bad the new Gunslinger killer in Dead by Daylight isn't very good, he's fun to play at times though.

DBD is a decent game. I wouldn't want to get into a grudge match with Mr Cash. :)

I thought Wind Through the Keyhole was three stories in one. The third part was about the big cat or tiger at the end.

You realise that the majority of the movie's dialogue came directly from the book? :) The film seems to be hated in most of North America, but in Europe and Japan it is hailed as a classic.
Still... To compare it with the book is way off the mark. The Book is really good. Didn't like the movie but knows opinions differ about that but if you havent read it so try it!!

Dont know why i'm so dashed sleepy today. I tried to start on King but i couldn't even start the first sentence..... Now i'm going for some classic comics, Andre Franquins Gaston from the 70,s and 80,s. Funny in a way that doesn't take to much brain capacity to read. "and then, per chance to dream".
Thinking about it it might be that BIG pizza i had for lunch. It had, among many other things, garlic and goat cheese on it! Quite yummy it was.
