Welcome back everyone! Hope your time off was fun, Marsha.

We survived the first week of school. No issues at all. Thankful for that and hopeful it stays that way.

We went to the lake Friday after school, for our last weekend hurrah. Had a good time. Brandon and family came out Sunday and spent the day there with us. Marti took some pictures of Evan, for senior pics. She took some great ones!

We got home in the nick of time Sunday evening. About 30 minutes before a terrible storm moved in. We have hail damage to the north side of the house. Holes in the siding, the deck and door facings look sandblasted. We think the roof is ok but Scott is going to get up there and look it over. Vehicles are ok. (Which is weird!) Trees and flowers shredded. No leaves left at all on the new maple tree and my plum tree looks pitiful. Aspen tree lost half its leaves. :( The hail was small, but it was being driven by 71 mph winds. Took down mature trees all over town. Blew over sheds, fences, campers, trailers, billboards, road signs, a HUGE flagpole, snapped it like a twig...even blew a full sized Jeep out of the Dodge dealership just down the road from us. Pushed it down the highway as if it was being driven (on the wrong side though!) before it hit a retaining wall and flipped over on its side. Crazy!!! No one was hurt, thankfully. All the damage all over town and no injuries. Amazing. We are so thankful we were not still on our way home, pulling the camper when it hit. So thankful.

That was major storm #3. First time we have gotten any damage, at our house. Insurance companies are behind, so it will be 4-8 weeks before we even get an insurance adjuster here to look at our house.

Anyway, eventful week around here! Could have done without the storm, but everything else was good.

Have a great day. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Sorry about the house stuff, that's always a drag dealing with people coming to your house to install or fix something. Hopefully it can move a little quicker than that 4 to 8 weeks.

Yeah, I hope so too. Would like to get it done before the snow. But that may not happen if we are looking at 8 wks even to get the claim moving. We do have some old siding we can use to patch with, insurance lady said yesterday we could do that in the meantime. It is not the same color so it will look goofy. Hoping the roof is ok. It looks ok from the street but you never know til you get up there. I am thinking if there is damage it will be right along the peak or along the bottom edge, if the wind caught any of the shingles.

We have only dealt with anything like this once before, 10 years ago. That time it totalled both vehicles and got 2 sides of the house. They could not match the siding so we ended up with all new siding. I hope that does not happen again. It was just an off white then but nothing matched! Now it is green which will probably be harder to match, and it has been 10 years. Ugh.

Patch with your siding and paint some really terrific mural on it in the meantime! Maybe Snoop Dog...or Snoopy the dog.

Oh cat!!! cat in a bag Y'all get some real intense weather there! Glad no one was hurt, no irreparable damage. Wishing you peace and patience for the coming weeks.

Happy back to school time! I hate to see it - every year. We've only got 1 left in school, though - so that's been nice. She's 16 and learning to drive. We put her through driving school even, but she's still terrifying behind the wheel. Some people just shouldn't drive. At least not on my insurance!!

I'm trying to get back in the mood to hit it hard at work. Summer went by too fast. It'll be hot here for a while yet, but summer festivities are over. Still not in the mood for Sept - May , but it's not my call. Here it comes.

Notice the absence of "!" in my posts. I'm trying to chill. Not everything is a "!", Renee!

I'm taking a mental health day tomorrow - I have to get my driver's license renewed, and since I let it lapse I have to get my picture taken. And since I have to get my picture taken, I have to go get my roots done first. And since I have to get my roots done, I may as well get a pedicure. And if I do all that, I need a day off. And if I take a day off, I'm having a nice lunch downtown with the Ogre. Big busy day for me tomorrow! I might even go to Marshall's and smell some soaps, lotions and candles. I might even buy a decorative pillow or new lampshades. "If you give an Admin a day off...." Here's hoping I actually go get my license renewed.

Peace be with you.

Does anyone know if Stephen attended the it chapter two red carpet? Oh and welcome back.
No, he didn't want to travel and hardly ever attends the red carpet openings. The last one I can think of was for The Green Mile. Quite often they will have screenings in Bangor sponsored by his radio station which he attends and those are less formal and closer to home.

Dana Jean Oh how I wish I'd read your post before I trekked down to the DLSC - she asked me if I wanted to go ahead and get my star card. I had no idea. Sure - I'll do that. Then she asked if I had my birth certificate with me. Hrmph. Le sigh. And my picture looks like a toad version of me. Whose chin is that? So I'll be going back with my birth certificate AND a better disposition so I can get a better picture.

Anyone else NOT in the know REAL ID Act: What It Means, State by State Info & Updates [2019] learn here. For even domestic flights beginning Oct 2020, your driver's license will not be enough. Not everyone has a passport - you can use a passport if you have one though. Or I guess bring your birth certificate, social security card, drop of blood from each parent, DNA results. Argh.

FlakeNoir how funny that I still used exclamation points, even when I tried not to. I'll blame the vodka. I gleaned those out twice. The "!" , not the vodka.

I had a wonderful day. I didn't do anything productive - other than get an ugly photo for my license. Well, that and walking 10 blocks with the Ogre to get a sandwich for lunch. He doesn't like the trolley . I thought we were having tacos. Imagine my disappointment. Tacos or turkey sandwich. It was good to see my husband on a Wednesday afternoon though and the weather was so nice. But 10 blocks for a sandwich.

With love,
:frog: toadface.

Lepplady oh hey you!! We'll just drop the basket now - maybe some onion rings too. Hope your kitty is better.

I had to get a new license too - it's shocking when you compare the old pics to the new ones - I compared license pics from 2010, 2016 and now 2019 - Yikes!

Forgot that SKMB had reopened again on Tuesday
:(:facepalm_smiley:

Will have to make sure to check out this Board on Thursday (I am posting after midnight so it still feels like Wednesday to me)

And I'd do it early because everyone is going to flood that DMV when they realize, oh crap, I can't get on a plane or go in a federal building wtihout that STAR . Not sure if the passport will get you in the fed building????

My understanding is that a US passport will allow entrance to federal buildings and on planes.
